Well, it went from Spring ....to fall...what happened to SUMMER?

OK....I have been a little busy this year and that's why I completely skipped over the Summer Season.....sorry about that! As an independent contractor in this business I am free to go wherever I want to work and as I have been involved with AVEDA haircolor and products for the last 5 years, I decided to work in an Aveda Lifestyle salon in Napa. Well, it was interesting and educational, but I missed Sonoma sooooooo much, I had to come back. I am now available to Sonoma again at Jack London Village at my own salon called SOS Hair Art. At the end of the month I will be going to Denver, Colorado, to begin the training on a new haircolor product I am representing in the U.S. from Italy. It's called FAIPA and it has the same enviromental pluses that have made Aveda so popular. It is botanically derived, biodegradeable, the packaging is recycleabe and it is full of wonderful ingrediants that pamper and protect your hair. I am hoping to have the haircare line of retail products also available to complete the package. More on this in the coming weeks.

Keeping Up!

It's a beautiful morning and the sun is shining....so nice to be moving into Spring/Summer now! A big part of that change is that people begin to come back to a more social atmosphere. We shake off the winter hibernation and get back out there. We walk around more, we change our wardrobe, we feel the renewal that is this season!
I am noticing a pick up in business, which in these days is a welcome thing. I hope that trend continues. At SOS Hair Art, my business inside Catalina's Skin and Body in Sonoma, I strive to give my clients an easy, fresh new look that works for their lifestyle. When someone is trying to change their hair, I suggest they look at this website.... it's called The Hairstyler.
This site is very cool because you can either view a bunch of styles and even make a copy of what you like, or better still, you can join for a minimal fee and plug in a photo of your face with any hairstyle you like and it will show you how you look in that hairstyle. You can copy it and take it to your stylist for your next cut or color ...... and a picture is worth a thousand words, as they say! Give it a try! Let me hear from you.

Welcome To My Blog!

I am beginning this blog to address the subjects that not only interest me, but are of great importance and interest to my clientele. As I am progressing along my life's path (a nice way of describing aging) I think about the things I have learned about the care of our bodies that may benefit the people that rely on me for fresh insight.

I am not usually a joiner, have never liked organized groups....etc. But, out of sheer necessity and with the urging of a few of my co-workers who are doing it, I joined Weight Watchers. Well, much to my amazement, I LOVE it!!! I am eating more and that has always been a problem for me. I think that all stylists have the problem of working and working and not stopping for a lunch or dinner break until the end of your day. That is simply not the way to get your body burning the necessary calories it needs to, to keep you looking fit. So, I am now a breakfast eater and that keeps me happy till about 1 or 2 pm. I am making good choices for my foods I do eat (whole grains, lots more fruits and veggies and more H2O) and am starting to remember the points on my favorite foods. In short.....I highly recommend you check this out!!!!
